TUITION AND FEES

FEES for the Program are subsidized by Handong Global University and kept low to ensure access to a diversity of applicants from around the world.

Program terms are in the SPRING Semester (End of February to mid June) and FALL Semester (End of August to mid December) of each year. Students may also choose to participate in the end-term Field Service Team in the Summer (June-July) or Winter (Jan-Feb) vacation period or participate in a campus Project Team as a capstone final project. More information about available options and fees will be shared with fellows during the term period. Eligibility is subject to successful completion of your Gap Fellowship Program. Students are also allowed to extend their One Semester to at most One Additional Term in the Program.

  • The $50 Application fee may be sent to the school's Korean or US bank account. Payment instructions will be sent after receiving your application by email.

  • Upon acceptance, payment of the Tuition/Dormitory fees ($3700) will reserve your place in the program. All fees are accepted by international wire transfer to the school's Korean bank account. Transfer information will be provided in the Acceptance Packet.

  • All courses accrue academic credit and may be transferred to your home institution. Ask your home institution about their credit transfer policy as policies differs from school to school. Transcripts are available upon request.

  • Refunds are available minus any bank transfer, registration, and processing fees with a written request up to One Week prior to the start of your accepted term.

FULLY RESIDENTIAL GLOBAL COMMUNITY

The Global Leadership Fellowship is entirely in-person and residential, living alongside full-time university students in the dormitory. Students may plan local, regional, and international excursions with other students. International departures are possible via KTX Express Bullet Train from Daegu Intl Aiport (30 mns), Seoul Intl Airport (2hrs), and Incheon International Airport (2hrs).

ROOM AND BOARD / Meal Options

Fellows share a bedroom in a shared room of two or three other peers usually in the International House. Students may bring their own bedding, or purchase bedding upon arrival which can cost around $50-70 for bedding, blanket, and pillow. Toiletries are available in any of the three convenience stores on campus or at the larger shopping centers in the city which are easily accessible by school shuttle departing every 30 minutes.

Various dining options are available on campus and even more off campus. Students can purchase a la cart from a variety of campus restaurants or select the most basic board or meal plan program which includes two meals per day in the Main Student Cafeteria Food Court. A semester's meal plan at the basic level costs about US$300. An single meal costs US$3-4. Fellows may take advantage of many different dining options beyond their basic meal plan, including BurgerKing's, restaurants offering American, Italian, and Korean entrees, several cafes/bakeries, and boxed meals at the convenience store.

LOCATION - Handong Global University Campus at Pohang Bay

Students arrive into Incheon International Airport (ICN) or Busan International Airport (BUS). From the ICN, it is easy to transfer to the KTX Bullet Train for Pohang which is approx. a 2hr ride. Upon arrival at the Pohang KTX Train Terminal, students can take a 10 mns taxi ride to the Handong Global University campus. Taxis are lined up outside the train station at all hours of the day and know the Handong campus as a major destination for foreigners and students.
